1 Samuel 8:6-7 says: But when they said, "Give us a king to lead us," this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the LORD. And the LORD told him: "Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king."
What words of perspective that God offers us as a leaders who face rejection! God says so clearly to Samuel, when they ask for a king, it is not you that they reject but me. I wonder how many times as leaders those we are leading actually reject God, but we, like Samuel, feel as though they are rejectng us. there is an important lesson in this!
